Divorce and Separation

Divorce is one of the most painful and stressful processes that an individual will endure.  We can help guide you through the process.  We listen to your needs, to ensure you have a divorce solicitor with the right experience and approach. We have acted for and against clients from all areas of life with varying assets and finances.  We are on your side and will do all we can to achieve a fair settlement through negotiation, or if necessary court action.

Civil Partnership

The process of ending a civil partnership is known as dissolution. Before you can apply you must have been in a civil partnership for a year.

Just as people in a civil partnership benefit from the same rights as married couples in terms of tax benefits, pensions and inheritance; ending a civil partnership provides the same entitlements as a spouse who gets divorced.

Separation Agreements

If you are not considering a divorce or dissolution but wish for some finality then a separation agreement may be appropriate. This agreement ensures that financial and children matters are resolved before legal divorce proceedings. This often means that the divorce itself becomes a less stressful process for those going through it.

Cases involving Children

Dealing with issues and disputes involving your children is extremely distressing and emotive.  Any decisions made affects not only the adults involved, but of course the children themselves.  In cases involving children, court action should be used as a last resort and the welfare of the children will remain the paramount consideration.

Child Arrangement Orders, which have replaced Child ContactChild Custody Orders and Residence Orders, are legal agreements setting out where a child should live (residence), who they should spend time with (contact) and who the children are allowed to see during the contact.

We are also able to act where the Local Authority are considering care proceedings We can help with adoption matters, supervision and care orders.

This area of work is covered by Legal Aid so if the Local Authority are convening a child protection conference or have started court proceedings then contact us as soon as you can.

Our first priority in any family dispute is to ensure the welfare of your children is protected; and where court proceedings are necessary, you can rely on our dedicated family law solicitors to provide representation and support through the process.

Our family solicitors are not here to judge you or to make decisions for you, but to help you make informed decisions in a friendly supportive and professional setting.
