Bridgend solicitors achieve mark of excellence

18/10/2011

Bridgend and Treorchy-based solicitors, RLE Law, has become the first firm in Bridgend and Rhondda Cynon Taff to achieve the coveted Law Society’s quality kite mark, the Lexcel accreditation.

The firm, which has offices in Derwen Road, Bridgend, and in Treorchy’s High Street, underwent a rigorous assessment to be awarded the standard, which is recognised industry-wide as the ultimate stamp of legal excellence.

The company, which was established in September 2010, applied for the accreditation as part of its drive to compete with larger city-based firms.

Emma Hardwidge, director at RLE Law, said: “As a young firm we felt we wanted to go for the challenge of gaining a Lexcel accreditation in order to continue to drive the company forward. The assessment process is renowned as being very intensive and onerous, but we agreed that our management protocol and systems were up to the scrutiny and the fact that we’ve received the accreditation so early on highlights the quality of our work.”

The firm, which specialises in family law and wills and probate, has achieved a 20% increase in its first year’s projected turnover. After relocating to larger offices in Bridgend in its first six months, the company now employs 13 full-time members of staff.

Ms Hardwidge added: “The growth we’ve experienced over the past 12 months has been fantastic. We’re very excited to be the only solicitors in the area with this accreditation and we are now looking towards taking the firm to new heights and focusing on boosting our growth even further.”

The Law Society’s Lexcel assessor was particularly impressed with the level of attention given to clients and staff within the firm, commenting: “There is a real commitment to providing a quality service to clients and to continually improve performance. This is reflected in the directors’ open approach to suggestions for improvement and in the understanding of all levels of staff of the importance of their role and of the part they individually play in delivering good client care.”

Ms Hardwidge concluded: “It’s fantastic that our focus on customer care was picked up during the audit and we’re particularly pleased that this is the message that has been most prominent throughout the Law Society’s feedback of our systems.

“With this Lexcel accreditation under our belt, we’re on our way to succeeding in our aim to be the most professional firm in the area, while maintaining our reputation as being friendly and approachable.”

RLE Law specialises in providing advice for businesses and individuals across a range of legal areas, such as family and matrimonial law and wills, probate, power of attorney and conveyancing.
